Forgotten Arsenal player makes big Mesut Ozil claim ahead of Marseille transfer

Matteo Guendouzi, has insidted that former Arsenal star, Mesut Ozil, is Germany’s best ever player. After spending the past season at Hertha Berlin, Guendouzi is now set to join Marseille, with the Ligue 1 club hopeful of finalising a deal within the next seven days. The Frenchman isn’t the only player to have fallen out with the Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, as Ozil, who recently moved to Fenerbache on a free transfer after seven years in north London, had also fallen out of favour with Arteta and the club’s hierarchy. And while speaking to Sport Bild, Guendouzi said of Ozil: “Mesut Ozil is a great role model and a brother to me. “For me, Ozil is clearly the best German player. And he’s one of the best tens in the history of German football. "At Arsenal, he immediately took me under his wing and gave me a lot of tips. That’s why he’s like a big brother to me. “I have a lot of respect for him as a footballer, but also as a person. He’s a person I admire. Even during my time at Hertha [Berlin], we were always in contact, often writing to each other or talking on the phone.” Source - football.london Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
