Liverpool journalist David Hughes has made a transfer claim concerning Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.
Liverpool have been linked with the Watford star for the summer transfer window. He has a close relationship with Sadio Mane, with both players starting their careers in Senegal’s Generation Foot academy.
Amid the talks over the possible transfer and the Senegal pairs’ reunion, Hughes shared his thoughst on the latest ‘Analysing Anfield‘ episode of the Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red podcast.
Speaking on Sarr, he said: “Really versatile, exciting player. I think in a few years, he’s going to be a really top player. He’s tall, 6’1”, really quick. He’s good on the ball, he’s a good dribbler. I’m not too sure it’s all there in the final third, but he still chipped in with a few goals this year. He seems to work very hard as well, at Watford he’s really improved his defensive work this year. He’s just a really good player.
He’s basically followed the same path as [Sadio] Mane, hasn’t he? Obviously, he’s a Senegal player as well. I could see him coming to Liverpool and really developing in this regime.”
