FIFA plan radical changes to loan rules

FIFA are planning to reduce the number of players club are allowed to loan out in a move. The new rule could hit Chelsea the hardest. The Blues haveallowed several players to leave the club temporarily in recent seasons and the rule that restricts could come in which limits the loaning out of players to those under the age of 21. It claims: "Talents under the age of 21 who have been trained by their home club and have been under contract there for an extended period of time may continue to be borrowed in unlimited numbers to further their development by collecting match practice elsewhere." Chelsea have loaned out a staggering 40 players this season, including the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko (24), Kurt Zouma (23) and Michy Batshuayi (24). Goalkeeper Matej Delac, 26, spent eight years on the books at Stamford Bridge before leaving the club this summer, having completed 10 loan spells away.
