FIFA confirmed five candidates for the presidency of world football’s governing body

FIFA have officially confirmed five candidates to battle for the presidency of world football’s governing body in elections set for Feb. 26. They are: Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa, Gianni Infantino, Tokyo Sexwale and Jerome Champagne. The elections will be held in Zurich.

The five candidates are bidding to replace Sepp Blatter who was banned by FIFA’s ethics committee for making a “disloyal payment” of 2 million Swiss francs (£1.35m) to UEFA president Michel Platini in 2011.
