French Tennis Federation (FFT) president Bernard Giudicelli said the FFT informed Roger Federer’s agent, Tony Godsick, of their decision to reschedule the French Open, however, they didn’t consult with him, per So Tennis/Twitter.
The French Open will now kick off on September 20 due to coronavirus outbreak.
“We have made a difficult yet brave decision in this unprecedented situation, which has evolved greatly since last weekend,” Giudicelli said in his statement on Tuesday.
“We are acting responsibly, and must work together in the fight to ensure everybody’s health and safety.”
