Ferran Torres confirms his best position ahead of Manchester City move

Ferran Torres wants to follow in Cristiano Ronaldo's footsteps as he approaches the next challenge of his football career. The 20-year-old Valencia winger is set to join Manchester City this summer. Despite his young age, Torres already has three years of La Liga experience and has earned rave reviews for his performances both for his club and the Spain youth teams. "From an early age I had two main references, one when I was very small and he arrived at Valencia and that was David Villa. Villa and [David] Silva the duo that took Valencia to such great heights.," he said. "But for me, Cristiano above all is a great reference not just because of the way he plays his football but also because of the way he carries himself away from football. It is worthy of admiration and I would like to follow his steps. He went out to eat the world and I believe he has eaten it." Torres is being brought in at City to help fill the void left by Leroy Sane's departure for Bayern Munich. "Maybe my best position at the moment is on the flanks but with the passing years when I get a bit older and perhaps lose a bit of speed and the power that I am known for then maybe I will finish playing inside because I have played there in the past," he said. "Something else instilled in me since I was small is that the more positions you can cover on the pitch then the more possibilities you have to play and the more you can contribute." Valencia star will sign his Manchester City deal on Tuesday, according to ESPN. The move has been completed in Barcelona. The 20-year-old is thought switch clubs for an initial £21m (€23m). The deal will have the potential for considerable add-on payments that could lift the final figure up by another £10.5m (€12m). Source: MEN
