"The fans loved me" - Wolves star on what went wrong at Molineux

Wolves forward Patrick Cutrone has stated that his move to Molineux failed to live up to expectations because Nuno Espirito Santo preferes his ‘loyal players’. The 22-year-old moved to Wolves from Milan last summer but lasted just six months of a four-year contract before returning to Italy. Earlier in January he signed an 18-month loan deal with Fiorentina since when he has netted once in four appearances. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport,  young striker claimed his start with Wolves was undermined by Nuno’s dependence on Raul Jimenez. “I went to Wolverhampton with a lot of enthusiasm,” he said. “The fans loved me; they dedicated a chant to me. After all, I scored three goals in the few minutes I played. “But I had a coach that preferred to focus on the ones who had been loyal to him.” Cutrone scored in Fiorentina’s Coppa Italia victory over Atalanta - and has also featured against SPAL, Napoli and Genoa.
