Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has reportedly reached an agreement with Inter Milan.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spaniard has already settled on a two-year contract with the Serie A outfit. The Italian transfer insider confirmed that Athletic Bilbao are also in the race for the defender, however, the player shows no intention to consider other proposals other than Inter.
After a long and successful tenure at Stamford Bridge, the veteran is set to make a move from the club this summer.
The deal is expected to be a free transfer, as the Blues have agreed to terminate his contract a year early to facilitate his departure to the team that finished as runners-up in the 2023 UEFA Champions League.
Azpilicueta originally joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2012 and has since become a mainstay at the club. Over the course of his 11-year tenure, the 33-year-old Spaniard has made 508 appearances, scoring 17 goals in the process.
