Fabrizio Romano reveals Liverpool star will sign new contract

Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk will reportedly sign an extension at the club. The Reds recently extended the stay of Alisson Becker, and it seems that the extensions are to keep on going. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told the Here We Go podcast, as cited by Anfield Edition’s Twitter account, that van Dijk will be the next player at the club to sign a new deal.

  The 30-year-old's current contract expires in June 2023. Liverpool signed the centre-back from Southampton for a transfer fee of €84.65 million back in January 2018. Since then the Dutchman has been pivotal (130 appearances) in regards to the club’s recent success. Liverpool have won four major trophies since his arrival.
