Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Mason Mount’s contract situation at Chelsea.
The youngster has been a Blues player since 2017. Overall, the attacking midfielder has made 160 appearances in which he has scored 30 goals and provided 31 assists.
Mount is one of the key players at Chelsea and his contract expires in 2024.
Taking to Twitter, Romano said that the Blues board are planning to open talks with the player as soon as possible.
Romano wrote on Twitter: “Mason Mount has been waiting for a new contract for months. Chelsea board are planning to open talks with Mount as soon as possible, it will be one of many key things for the club. #CFC
“Not an urgent situation btw, as current deal expires in June 2024.”
