Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared some good news for Chelsea fans about the club’s desire to extend Jorginho’s stay at Stamford Bridge.
While speaking on his own podcast, Romano explained that the Blues are planning to offer their midfielder a new deal.
Jorginho’s contract expires in June 2023 and there has been plenty of talk recently about a potential renewal.
The Italian’s agent, Joao Santos, was last week quoted saying he had already conversed with Marina Granovskaia over a fresh agreement.
Romano said of Jorginho’s situation:
“The agent of Jorginho was speaking in Italy this week that Marina Granovskaia already let us know that she wants to extend the contract of Jorginho.
“It is true that Chelsea have a strong interest in extending Jorginho’s contract, but at the moment, it is not the priority.”
Jorginho joined Chelsea from Napoli for £50m (BBC) back in 2018.
