Express Sport: Roger Federer retirement claim made in Ivan Ljubicic chat

Roger Federer could be close to calling time on his career, it has been admitted. While discussing coach Ivan Ljubicic’s relationship with Federer with fellow pundits, Sky Sports Tennis journalist Elena Pero admitted Federer could soon retire. “I do not know what kind of contract there is between them who are big friends [Federer and Ljubicic], so I do not think it's something related just to business and work,” Pero said. “I do not know how much the co-operation will last even because no one knows for how much time Federer will keep playing.” Pero continued to open up on the close relationship between Federer and coach Ljubicic. “Let's say that not even [Severin] Luthi, who is the other Federer's coach, ever gives interviews,” Pero added. “I do not think it's coaches' jobs to release interviews. Ivan [Ljubicic] is an extremely smart, good person, he speaks so many languages. He is an amazing person and Federer choosing him as a coach does not surprise me.”
