EXCLUSIVE: Ray Parlour ‘shocked’ by Pochettino dismissal

VBET ambassador Ray Parlour admitted the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino from Tottenham was “a massive shock for the football world”. Despite having guided Spurs to last season’s Champions League final, Pochettino’s five-year reign at the club came to an end on Tuesday. The Argentine has since been replaced by Jose Mourinho. Spurs have made a relatively poor start to the Premier League this season, but Arsenal legend Parlour still expressed surprise by the decision to sack Pochettino. He told VBET News: “I thought he did a wonderful job – I think he was a little bit unlucky. “I thought he had a little bit more time to try and get Spurs back into winning ways. “I know they’ll be disappointed from last season, but they got to a Champions League final, which is a massive achievement. “I’m sure lots of Spurs fans will be a little bit disappointed with the sacking. ”Parlour expects Mourinho to be given money to bolster Spurs’ squad in theJanuary transfer window. But the former Gunners great is not so sure as to whether or not this will ultimately lead to silverware. He added: “I’d be amazed if he won’t be backed in the transfer window – every single club he has gone to he has always been backed with money. “Can he win them a trophy? We’ll have to wait and see.”
