EXCLUSIVE Brian Hughes: ‘She’s a very unexposed horse'

Champion jockey Brian Hughes exclusively gives his thoughts ahead of his weekend rides. VBET’s ambassador has three good mounts at Haydock on Saturday before making the long journey from North Yorkshire to Exeter on Sunday to partner a trio of Evan Williams-trained horses: Here’s what Brian has to say: “It was nice to have a winner at Catterick on Friday with ARMATTIEKAN. The owners have been really patient with him and it was great to see him get his nose in front again. “Things didn’t work out with SNOOKERED later in the day, but I’m fine after his fall at the last and we can now go to Haydock on Saturday with three rides.”

12.40 Haydock (Sat) – SNOW LEOPARDESS

“She’s a nice mare and I like her attitude. I’ve had a good feel off her over fences so far. She’s jumped well on her two starts and has ran two good races. This is a lot tougher against hardened handicappers, but she’s a very unexposed horse and hopefully she’ll run a nice race.”

1.50 Haydock (Sat) – DEAR SIRE

“He’s won two times this year and has also ran well in defeat on three other occasions. It’s a really competitive race, but he’s in good form and should be plenty fit enough. The ground and track should also be grand for him.”

3.35 Haydock (Sat) – BALLYDINE

“He’s a really strong stayer. It also looks like he likes the track as he finished fourth in the Peter Marsh last January. You’d expect him to come on for his first start of the season at Aintree last month. He’d have a good chance if he shows his best form.”

SUNDAY SERVICE

“On Sunday, I make the long trip to Exeter for three rides for Evan Williams. I’ll be setting off at 6am so hopefully it will be a worthwhile journey. “I’ve never ridden FADO DES BROSSES (12.33), PRESENT VALUE (1.33) or GOLDEN WHISKY (2.08) ever before so I’ll need to study the form a lot more before being able to work out their chances. “I do know that Evan is a smashing fella’ and a great trainer and (owners) Mr and Mrs Rucker are really good people. All three horses look to have a good chance, so hopefully they’ll all run good races.”   With VBET, official sponsors of champion jockey Brian Hughes, you get the best odds and the best betting opportunities.
