Alan Shearer was in complimentary mood while talking about Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The pundit was giving his verdict on some of the young talents in the Premier League and he named the 23-year-old as a glowing example.
Speaking on the
Premier League’s YouTube channel, Shearer was full of praise:
“He’s already into double figures for assists this season averaging one every two matches and he creates a chance every 30 minutes. Impressive stats for a defender," said the ex-footballer.
“Under Jurgen Klopp he has plenty of licence to get forward. The assist for Sadio Mane against Burnley is the case in point.
“His vision combined with an ability to pick out a pass is exceptional. As we saw against Chelsea, as soon as he received the ball he wanted to go forward, and he found Mo Salah who provided a classy finish.
"Liverpool are scoring for fun this season and with players like Alexander-Arnold in the team, you can see why.”
