Tony Cascarino has urged Gareth Southgate to call up Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi to the England squad.
The 21-year-old has been having an 'excellent' season at Selhurst Park so far.
And writing on the
Times, Cascarino said that the Palace youngster deserves to represent the Three Lions.
“Gareth Southgate was at Molineux on Saturday, probably to watch Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Max Kilman, but another young English centre back will have also caught the eye,” said the former Chelsea striker.
“Marc Guehi, who joined Crystal Palace from Chelsea in the summer for £18 million, was outstanding in his side’s 2-0 win and has had an excellent season.
“Guehi has represented England at every age group — winning the Under-17 World Cup in 2017 — and has had little trouble adapting to the Premier League.
“He is ready for a call-up, but Kilman has more chance of getting the nod this month.”
