Ex-Liverpool star delivers VERDICT on Mo Salah and Sadio Mane possible moves to La Liga
Former Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman doesn’t believe the rumors linking Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
According to the recent reports from Spain, Mane has become a top target for Los Blancos. Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of the Senegalese international and has reportedly asked club owners to buy him.
McManaman, however, says neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid are in the same level as the Premier League sides.
Former England national team player has emphasized how Liverpool and Manchester City have become stronger, while La Liga top sides have had bad seasons in the past 2-3 years.
“Well Real Madrid already have Eden Hazard, they bought Rodrygo last summer and they’ve just invested in Reinier in January, so I’d take rumours like that with a pinch of salt.” McManaman told HorcingRace.net (via LiverpoolECHO)
“Regardless of how the Champions League turns out this season, the best teams in the world at present are the English teams. Real Madrid and Barcelona are not!
“They both want to start again and bring in a few new players because they’ve both had disappointing seasons this year, so they’re going to start turning their squads over.
“Despite this, I don’t think there’s any chance of either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah going to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.” he added.
