Why ex-Everton boss wants Liverpool to beat Tottenham?
Former Everton coach Ronald Koeman would love to see Liverpool beating Tottenham in Champions League final, so that Netherlands national team stars Virgil Van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum would be in a good mood ahead of UEFA Nations League finals.
Koeman, who’s currently working with Netherlands national team, will face England in Portugal to decide Nations League final place.
Despite managing Everton, he would prefer to see his players in a positive mood, rather than in a negative, as both Van Dijk and Wijnaldum are key players and their attitude will be important for the national team.
Liverpool and Tottenham will meet at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid, on June 1.
“It would be rather sour if both ended up empty handed after such a formidable season and being so close to huge trophies” Koeman said.
