Everton to pay more than €15m and £1m-a-year wages if sign 20-year-old target

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi and might have to fight with AS Roma and Juventus in order to get his signature. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a quite impressive loan spell at Empoli and attracted interest from couple of top clubs. According to Forza Roma AS Roma have a €15m (£13.6m) buyback clause for Frattesi but are attempting to ‘skim’ the value during talks with his agent. Meanwhile Global Sports Salaries claims that Sassuolo’s average wage is £915k-a-year/£17.6k-per-week, which is lower than Everton’s average wage for young first-team players, as it is between £1.04m-a-year/£20k-per-week and £1.3m-a-year/£25k-per-week. Frattesi may not immedeatly start for the Toffees if signed this summer, however there’s a clear pathway for young talent to progress to the first-team. Under Marcel Brands, the Blues have been lowering the average age of the squad and signing players who have years to develop at the Goodison Park. Frattesi surely fits the criteria, but the club have a tough task on their hands beating out a former club in AS Roma, and also Juventus. The youngster was born in Rome and left Roma for Sassuolo in 2017, having joined the club from Lazio in 2014. Source- Vital Everton
