January transfer window will soon reopen and Arsenal head coach Unai Emery will start to strengthen his squad with new names.
Sevilla player Ever Banega who has been a target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window, could rejoin forces with his former boss Unai Emery in the nearest future.
Banega played under Emery at Valencia and Sevilla in the past and it won’t be a surprise to see him moving to Arsenal from La Liga as the Spanish coach is a big fan of the player.
“I have a great relationship with him,” said the Spaniard . “It’s one of love and hate.
“I love him, because he’s a boy who loves football, who endears himself to you and who gives you all of his heart and his ability — and he has a lot.”
Banega has played a key role in Sevilla’s start to the season, chipping in with five goals in his 16 appearances in all competitions in 2018/19.
According to the stats in Spanish publication Marca, the midfielder has won the ball back 110 times already this season, five ahead of Real Valladolid midfielder Ruben Alcaraz.
That works out at that Banega wins the ball back 9.17 times in a game on average for Los Rojiblancos. His perfect statistics could make a huge impact in north London when he joins his forces with Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi, Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny.
