eSupercars Championship: Montreal and Watkins Glen preview

The BP Supercars All Stars Eseries are currently underway, while Supercars Championships are currently suspended due to coronavirus pandemic until June.

The BP Supercars All Stars Eseries started on April 8. Supercars drivers contested the races from their homes. The champions will be awarded at the end of the series. The races will be broadcast on Fox Sports, Kayo, Supercars.com and social channels.

The opening round was hailed a resounding success from fans. An average audience of 70,000 people watched the race, rising at 103,000 people throughout the two-hour live stream, making it the fifth-most watched show on Subscription TV and the only Fox Sports product in the top-20 shows, according to the Supercars.

25 drivers participating in the Eseries. The 26-year-old Scott McLaughlin of Shell V-Power Racing holds an 89-point lead over Cameron Waters of Monster Energy Racing.

The next round of series will take place on Wednesday, April 29. It will be the Montreal and Watkins Glen races. 

Five favourites to win Montreal race

Scott McLaughlin

After first races, Scott McLaughlin has 759 points and it’s not surprising that he is favourite to win the race in Montreal. 

Shane van Gisbergen

Red Bull Holden Racing Team’s 30-year-old star is one of the favourites of fans. The driver will participate in the race from New Zealand. He is currently third with 626 points. 

Anton De Pasquale

Penrite Racing’s 24-year-old driver De Pasquale is the third favourite. Even McLaughlin gave his credits to the driver. Currently, he is eighth in standings with 464 points. 

Chaz Mostert

Mostert introduces the Mobil 1 Appliances Online Racing. The 27-year-old, even admitted, he is taking the race with seriousness. He is currently fifth with 540 points. 

Marcos Ambrose

Two-time Supercars championship winner Marcos Ambrose will join the 2020 BP Supercars All Stars Eseries as a wildcard for Round 4 this week.
