Chelsea will reportedly make a step in order to sign Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho as they have learned Jadon Sancho would rather move to Manchester United than join them.
Both Premier League clubs were hoping to sign the 20-year-old Sancho, three years after he left Manchester City.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reported to be involved in deep negotiations with the England international ahead of a potential summer move.
According to
ESPN Frank Lampard's side understand United are close to signing a deal so they have turned their attention elsewhere.
The Catalan giants have offered the Blues the opportunity to take Coutinho on loan for a season, although they would prefer to offload the midfielder on a permanent basis but they would struggle to get anybody to meet his price tag of £94million.
The report also claim that Lampard has not completely given up on signing Sancho; he just realises that the chances are ever decreasing.
