Ernesto Valverde named a 18-man squad for the trip to Anoeta and suggested they need to rotate

In the final preparations for the contest, which comes after an international break, Valverde put the squad through their paces on Friday morning. Returning to training were Brazilian players Coutinho and Arthur. Barça B's Jokin Ezkieta trained with the first team, whilst Malcom continued with his recovery process. Ernesto Valverde named an 18-man squad this Friday, for the team's trip to Anoeta to take on Real Sociedad this Saturday at 4:15pm CEST. For the game against the typically tricky opposition, this is the list: Ter Stegen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Coutinho, Luis Suárez, Messi, Dembélé, Rafinha, Cillessen, Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Munir, S. Roberto, Vidal, Umtiti and Vermaelen. Aleñá and Arthur have been left out and Denis Suárez, Malcom and Samper are missing due to injury. Valverde has spoken out to the press ahead of the game. “For us it is a traditionally tricky game looking at past results. Last year we broke a poor run but it was hard for us,” said Valverde. Barcelona coach is confident, they need to rotate: “There are 7 games coming in 23 days and we will have to rotate to avoid injuries and be fresh. We have to bear in mind that there are just two days between the games.”
