Ernesto Valverde makes Liverpool declaration as Barcelona begin Champions League campaign

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde says last season’s Champions League semi-final game against Liverpool “is in the past”. Ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund in Germany, Valverde insisted that their European heartbreak is behind them. He said: "Last year was very good apart from for one game, but that is the past. Dortmund is the future and the good thing about football is that it always gives you another chance and we have to try and take advantage." Valverde also revealed he will make a late decision on whether to include Lionel Messi for their upcoming European clash.
