Erling Haaland claims Liverpool star is "the best" in his position

Erling Haaland has shared his high praise on Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, claiming the Dutch international is "the best" in his position. Borussia Dortmund star believes the Reds' man has three traits that make him the player he is today. “I think he is the best defender. I think quite a few others in the room agree with me on that. He is fast, strong and smart, and there are three important things you must have. I have played against him twice (2019-20 Champions League group stages – Liverpool vs RB Salzburg),” he said of Van Dijk on TV 2 (via Anfield Watch). “I have said that he is the best I have met. He is a good player, so we have to try to play around him.”
