Erling Haaland blames Borussia Dortmund in transfer statement amid Manchester City links

Erling Haaland has revealed that Borussia Dortmund have begun to put pressure on him to make a decision on his future. The Norwegian has become a real sensation having scored 78 goals in 77 matches for the Bundesliga side. That earned him interest from big-name clubs such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City. Haaland has two years left on his current deal at Signal Iduna Park but European powerhouses are on red alert with his reported £66m (€75m) release clause becoming active in the summer.
"Well, the last six months I have chosen not to say anything out of respect for Dortmund, but now the club has started to press me into making a decision, but all I want to do, is play football," Haaland told Viasport, speaking after Friday's win.   "But they press me to make a decision now about my future. So that means I have to make a decision soon.   "As I said they have put a lot of pressure on me and I have to accept that. I have chosen not to say anything out of respect for my club and the fans. But now it says itself that a lot of pressure is coming from the club, so now is the time to get things started.   "Yeah, that is what they want [for Haaland] to decide future. It means that things will happen now. I have said from the beginning that I want to focus on football because that is when I am at my best.   "Not when other things come into my mind. They have put pressure [on] for a while. So it is time to get started [negotiating].   "[When do you want to make a decision] Not now because we are in the middle of a difficult period with a lot of games. All I want to do is play football but I can't do that now."
