Meanwhile the all-English Champions League final looked extremely unlikely at various points. However, Liverpool overturned a three-goal deficit at Anfield to knock out La Liga champions Barcelona and progressed to the final with a stunning 4-3 aggregate victory. And now the two Premier League clubs are set to play in the final on June 1 at Madrid. But Which English clubs will be in the Champions League next term? There are seven teams scheduled to compete in the Europe next season and four spots are automatically allocated to the teams that finish in the first four positions in the Premiership. Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham have all secured their places in next season’s Champions League. Which English clubs will be in the Europa League? The final of the Europa League will be held on 27 May 2020 at Stadion Energa Gdansk, in Poland. When do the European competitions begin? The qualifying rounds for the tournament are set to begin on Tuesday 25 June with the preliminary round, which is then followed by first, second and third qualifying rounds. The draw for the group-stage of the tournament is set to take place on Thursday 29 August 2019, once all of the participating teams have been confirmed.
