Gary O'Neil aims to provide Yerson Mosquera with an opportunity in the Wolves' first team by the month's end.
Despite being an unused substitute in the last two matches following his loan stint at FC Cincinnati, the center-back is drawing interest from several Championship clubs for a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
The Wanderers are still deliberating on the 22-year-old's future this month, and the manager expressed his eagerness to witness the player in action before the transfer window concludes.
"He's quick, physically very, very good and I'm looking forward to seeing how he does.
"I'm hoping the opportunity arises for him to have a look. We would have played a game in Abu Dhabi if we didn't have the cup game, so we would have got a good look at him for a substantial amount of time, but that wasn't to be. The opportunities are there because we are quite light numbers-wise at this moment. Hopefully he does well."
The Colombian has a role model in team-mate Toti Gomes, who successfully transitioned from a loan spell at Grasshoppers to becoming a regular in the Wolves' first team.
While O'Neil emphasizes the importance of alleviating the pressure on Mosquera, he acknowledges that the 22-year-old exhibits the defensive qualities he values.
"Without having seen loads of him, he has a lot of attributes that I really like in a centre-back," the boss added.
