Wolves chairman Jeff Shi unveils January transfer window plans

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ chairman Jeff Shi have opened up about the club’s plans regarding January transfer window and claims they are “ready to invest” Wolves have had a solid start to the season in the Premier League and the Europa League, although head coach Nuno Espirito Santo prefers to work with a small squad. As of Willy Boly’s ankle injury, the Wolves are reportedly seeking for a new defender as a replacement. Speaking to wolves.co.uk, Shi answering the question about new signings, said: “Of course. We are always ready to invest. Don’t worry about it. If we need to strengthen the squad, of course, we have the capacity to do that in January. We understand our squad is still growing but if we want to compete at a high level we need to give Nuno and the team more support. It’s still too early, maybe by the end of November (we'll know where we need to strengthen). We have to review the performance of the first team and also the growth of the academy boys. It also depends hugely on the market. We are strong and we know where we are maybe a little bit weak, and I keep talking to Nuno about it. I think we will have a good window in January.”
