Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana opened up about his feelings on club interim coach Frank Lampard and the Blues' season in a nutshell.
“He’s a legend of the club, when you have Frank Lampard as your manager it’s crazy because I remember that I play on the PlayStation with Lampard and now he’s my manager,” admitted the Frenchman and added that he has learned a lot from the experienced Blue.
Today, on May 20, Chelsea will travel to the Etihad Stadium to be in action for their next Premier League game against Manchester City.
Lampard's side is currently in the 11th place in the league table with 43 points. The Blues have had a rather challenging season due to many hectic factors including changing managers, a new ownership and an overcrowded dressing room.
According to the 22-year-old, a win over Premier League leaders Manchester City can lift Chelsea fans' mood, despite their finishing spot.
“You have a bad season but if you win against Man City, everybody is happy for sure. The fans are not very happy because you finish 11th or 12th, but it’s happy because you win over the champion,” explained the Frenchman.
After a set of winless matches, the Blues celebrated their first win in a while against Bournemouth in May 6 and had a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest last weekend.
