Virgil van Dijk has spoken out on his red card which he received during Liverpool's win over Newcastle in August. Van Dijk was sent off for a challenge on Alexander Isak which denied him a goalscoring chance.
The defender was charged with a two-game ban which resulted in him missing the Reds clashes against Aston Villa and Wolves.
Liverpool prepare to face LASK in the Europa League group stage game matchday 1 on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Ahead of the game, Van Dijk was quizzed on his suspension.
"It's been very frustrating personally but it brought me a lot of other things," said Van Dijk.
"I enjoyed the team spirit, the result the way, [the way] we worked as a squad. Everything happens for a reason, I'm back now and looking forward to it. I was lucky with the two international games otherwise it would've been longer."
