Victor Lindelof has claimed that he was never close to leaving Manchester United this summer despite reports linking him with a move away from the club during the transfer window.
Lindelof was linked with a move away from England, with teams from Turkey, Spain, Italy and Portugal said to be interested in his services.
The Sweden international is obviously behind the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the centre-back pecking order, hence it's understandable why he was linked with an exit away from Old Trafford this summer.
However, the centre-back has revealed that he was never close to leaving the Red Devils, insisted that he loves the club alot.
Speaking about his Manchester United future, Lindelof said: “I love Manchester Utd and I still have a contract. So I can say that my exit this summer wasn't close at all”.
Jadon Sancho has sparked several ideas after he had a go at his manager Erik ten Hag to deny claims made by his boss that he missed out on the Arsenal trip last weekend as a result of poor training form.
Lindelof weighed in saying: “[Jadon] Sancho? Many things are written about United and it will always be like that. We are a united group. I don't think about it”.
Mason Greenwood moved to Getafe on deadline day of the transfer window after nearly two years without football as a result of the domestic violence charges against him.
Antony is also currently facing the same issue but the former Benfica defender has resisted the temptation to give his personal opinion on the issues.
He added: "Mason Greenwood and Antony? I don't have much to say about that. The club released a statement and I refer to that."
