Trevor Sinclair makes Liverpool admission ahead of new Premier League season

Trevor Sinclair claims Liverpool might struggle to make the top 4 in the Premier League for 2021/22 season. Former winger told TalkSport, that the lack of new signings and Virgil Van Dijk's miss due to injury could make some problems. The Dutch player missed nine months after suffering knee injury, but has joined his teammates in the pre-season matches.
Sinclair said, "I know they’ve got Van Dijk back, but I’m a bit concerned for Liverpool. Just because they’ve not really invested any money especially in the midfield area. I think they’ve got some work to do before I start looking at them for the league."   "I’m just not sure they’ve got the depth. They can’t play Van Dijk every game. He’s is a top player but coming back from a knee injury like he has you’ve got to be really careful with him. You look at the captain (Jordan Henderson) what’s going on with his contract, they’ve also lost Wijnaldum."
Ex-footballer also added.
"The front four still look very dangerous and Jota looked very good in the Euros so I think he’ll have a real big impact again. But just defensively, and I hear Robertson has picked up an injury so it’s just seems to be a stuttering start to the season for Liverpool."
Meanwhile, former Rangers forward Ally McCoist believes Liverpool will make top four instead of Leicester City.
"I think in terms of the top four the biggest question mark will be Liverpool but I think they will make top four. I think Leicester may miss out again unfortunately."
