Tottenham Hotspur are nearing closer to landing Argentine starlet Alejo Veliz, who has scored 11 times for Rosario Central in 2023.
The North London club has reportedly agreed to the £13m release clause for Veliz. Besides the Spurs, the 19-year-old forward attracted the interest of Nottingham Forest, AC Milan, Roma and Salernitana.
Veliz gained significantly popularity during the 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup while playing for Argentina. He managed to score three goals before Argentina was eliminated in the Round of 16 by Nigeria.
His impressive performance attracted attention from both Serie A and the Premier League. However, according to information from 90min, it was revealed that the emerging striker expressed a strong desire to join Tottenham.
Veliz's preference has positively influenced the ongoing negotiations between the clubs. There seem to be no anticipated problems regarding the contract discussions between Veliz and Tottenham, as they are currently working on a long-term contract agreement.
