The Africa Cup of Nations 2021 is right on the horizon! The competition will be host by Cameroon and is set to take place from January 9 until February 6 of 2022. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in June and July 2021 but the CAF announced on 15 January 2020 that due to unpleasant climatic conditions during this period, it would take place from 9 January to 6 February 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic also affected the Africa Cup of Nations 2021, as it was moved for the second time to January 2022, whilst keeping the name 2021 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship purposes. However, the competition will badly affect many European clubs, who have African players, as they will have to miss the January and February games to join their national teams. And here are the top 10 stars from the Premier League who will miss some games in the beginning of 2022 to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations.

1. Edouard Mendy (Chelsea) - Senegal

The 29-year-old's absence will be a huge blow for the Blues and most likely Kepa Arrizabalaga will replace him for a month.
