Last season, Watford had an impressive campaign. They finished in the 11th place of Premier League table with 50 points.
The Hornets reached the final of FA Cup after beating Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Wolves during their way. However, in the final, they suffered heavy 6-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.
Recently, Watford moved up to 17th place on 22 points.
With these results, they are 12th in the table of annual club wages.
In 2019/20 season, Watford’s total salary per year is £44,096,000.

Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is the tenth highest-paid player at the club. The player joined the Hornets in summer of 2014 from Tottenham Hotspur. He signed his latest contract extension with the club in the summer and it will expire at the end of the season. This season so far, as of December 18, the player has made three appearances for the club and has conceded three goals. Gomes is 38-year-old and is likely to end his career.

Etienne Capoue
Capoue is another experienced player in Nigel Pearson’s squad. He joined the club in 2015 from Tottenham. The 31-year-old, who earns a £ 2.080.000 in a month, signed his last contract extension in March of 2018. His deal with the Hornets will expire in 2022. This season so far, as of December 18, he has made 12 appearances.

Sebastian Prodl
Sebastian Prodl, 32, joined Watford from Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen in summer of 2015. Two years later, in 2017 he signed a contract extension, which will keep him at Vicarage Road until 2021. As of December 18, the player has made only 3 appearances for the Hornets.

Roberto Pereyra
Argentinian midfielder Roberto Pereyra earns the same amount of money, as Sebastian Prodl. The 28-year-old joined the Hornets in the summer of 2016 and his deal will expire in 2021. As of December 18, Pereyra has made 15 appearances for Nigel Person’s squad and has scored two goals, creating one assist.

Daryl Janmaat
Dutch right-back Daryl Janmaat joins the duo of Roberto Pereira and Sebastian Prodl as he has the same wage as his two teammates. Janmaat joined Watford from Newcastle United in 2016; however, the 30-year-old’s contract will expire at the end of the current season. As of December 18, Janmaat has scored and created once in his 10 appearances for the Hornets.

Tom Cleverley
English midfielder Tom Cleverley opens the top five of highest-paid players at Watford. First, he joined Watford from Manchester United on a season-long loan deal in 2010. Following the spells at Wigan, Aston Villa and Everton, the player again joined the Hornets on a loan deal in 2017 and signed a permanent deal after another loan spell. His contract with the club will expire in 2022. As of December 18, Cleverley has made ten appearances for the club and has scored only once.

Gerard Deulofeu
Gerard Deulofeu joined Watford from Barcelona on a season-long loan in 2018 and signed a contract on permanent bases on July 2018. The 25-year-old winger’s contract with the Hornets will expire in 2013. This season so far, as of December 18, Deulofeu has scored two goals and has created two assists in 19 appearances.

Troy Deeney
Troy Deeney had an interesting career so far. He joined Watford from Walsall in 2010, however, he had a two-year career break and started to play again from the September of 2012. The 31-year-old signed his last contract extension with the Hornets in 2016 and his deal will expire in 2021. As of December 18, Deeney has made only six appearances for the club.

Andre Gray joined Watford in 2017 from Burnley. Since then, he didn’t sign any contract extension and the current deal will expire in 2022. As of December 18, Gray has played 18 games for the Hornets and has scored two goals.

Abdoulaye Doucouré
The highest-paid player at Watford is Abdoulaye Doucouré. The French midfielder joined Watford in 2016 from Stade Rennais and immediately joined Granada on loan deal. After the end of his loan, he returned to Watford. In August of 2018, the player signed a contract extension with the Hornets, which will expire in 2023. As of December 18, Doucouré has made 19 appearances for Watford and has scored only once.
