Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing Timo Werner to propose him a return deal to the Premier League.
The Germany international is currently playing in RB Leipzig. However, after struggling to get play time this season, the Bundesliga club are open to considering a loan deal for Werner in the January transfer window.
As per the Sun, Aston Villa will be looking to sign the former Chelsea striker on a permanent deal in the summer, of 2024. Therefore, the Villans are less likely to approach the German side in the nearest transfer window.
The 27-year-old clinched the Champions League in his debut season at Chelsea but faced challenges reproducing the goal-scoring prowess that earned him acclaim in Germany.
Following a two-year stint at Stamford Bridge, Werner made a return to the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig in 2022, securing the DFB-Pokal in his comeback season under manager Marco Rose.
Manchester United are reportedly another club in the Premier League that are interested in securing Timo's services.
