Three World Cup players Leeds United could target in January transfer window

World Cup is one of the best tournaments for targeting hidden stars. Qatar 2022 kicked off on November 20 and will end on December 18.

Several teams have already qualified for the round of 16, meanwhile, there have been surprises with Germany and Belgium heading home early.

And when the tournament ends, clubs will prepare for the January transfer window. 

Leeds United had a busy summer transfer window as they welcomed Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen as well as Tyler Adams and others.

Adams with Aaronson have been having an impressive World Cup with USA as they have qualified for World Cup 2022 round of 16 where they will face the Netherlands.

The American duo's teammate Weston McKennie has also been impressive. The 24-year-old has so far made 3 appearances for USA.

McKennie could be a target for Leeds in January transfer window. He currently plays for Juventus and is contracted until 2025.

During this season, the midfielder has made 16 appearances in which he has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist.

Another player that is currently in the headlines is Cody Gakpo.  The 23-year-old has made 3 appearances in World Cup 2022 in which he has scored 3 goals.

Gakpo plays for PSV and is contracted until 2026. He has overall made 24 appearances this season in which he has scored 13 goals and provided 17 assists.

And lastly, Ángelo Preciado could also be on the Whites' radar. Although the Ecuador international has headed home as his side finished 3rd in their group, he had an impressive run in the World Cup.

The defender made 3 appearances for Ecuador in Qatar 2022. Preciado currently plays for Genk and his contract with the club expires in 2023. The 24-year-old has made 10 appearances for the club and provided 1 assist.
