Thiago Silva faces tempting offer for exit from Chelsea

Chelsea's veteran defender Thiago Silva has been presented with an opportunity for a return to his former club Fluminense in the upcoming summer.

Despite being a regular under Mauricio Pochettino, the 39-year-old's future at Chelsea appears uncertain as the club seeks defensive options this month, potentially indicating his departure in June.

The Brazil international, who joined Chelsea in 2020, is in the final year of his current contract, set to expire at the end of the season. His former club are eager to extend an invitation for him to embark on one last adventure in his 40s.

Having been Chelsea's player of the year in the previous season, Silva has played a pivotal role in the team's successes, including winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup, as well as reaching three domestic cup finals during his time at Stamford Bridge.

The former AC Milan and PSG star recently marked his 100th Premier League appearance in the win over Crystal Palace. Reflecting on his initial reluctance to play in the Premier League, Silva credited Pep Guardiola for changing his perspective by promoting a more attractive style of football.

Despite initially not favoring the English game, Silva became intrigued and eventually accepted Chelsea's proposal, impressed by the beautiful football played in the league.
