There’s a player Gunners should be prepared to spend big money on this summer and that player is Bournemouth centre-back Nathan Ake.
He can command possession, tackles and his skill set would do well as a checklist for everything Arsenal need at the club.
Ake’s former club Chelsea are believed to have an informal agreement with Bournemouth whereby they can bring Ake back to Stamford Bridge for £40million. In effect, were Arsenal to try to sign the Dutch international they would have to offer enough that the Cherries would choose not to do a deal with their London rivals. But even if that meant spending £50m on Ake, it would be a price worth paying.
