Solskjaer’s pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham clash: The boss orders applause for translator (VIDEO)

Champions League runner-up Tottenham to face off Manchester United in an all-Premier League clash in the next set of matches in the International Champions Cup, on Thursday. Ahead of the game, Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has faced the press. Solskjaer has confirmed Romelu Lukaku won’t play against Tottenham but Victor Lindelof is fit. "Lindelof is fine and Lukaku won't be fit, no. He has been working with a physio the last few days so I don't think he will make this one, no,” he said.  "He got injured in training. It is not too bad, if it was worse we would have sent him home." Solskjaer asked if he will be happy with his squad if there are no more signings: “I believe in these players. I’m sure that we could do well. But it’s both short term and long term, so when we’re working on something, that means we’ve identified something that could improve us. If it’s to be or not to be, we will see.” He also asked about increased intensity in pre-season matches ahead of Chelsea opener. “I think it’s important that we start well. You give yourself a chance if you have a good start, but then again it feels like a bit of a new start,” said the Norwegian.  “We want to find a style that we want to play on the front foot. It has to start sometime. It’s easier in pre-season than in the middle of the season. We’re laying a foundation both mentally and physically. The tour has been very good for team building.” On the effect missing all pre-season tour matches will have on Lukaku, Solskjaer said: “Of course it’s never nice to be a player who misses out on important fitness work but also team-building work, understanding, tactical approach. He’ll just have to make that up later on.” At the end of the press conference, Solskjaer asked that everyone applaud the tireless translator.
