Shrewsbury boss gives view on his side's chances at Anfield

Shrewsbury Town head coach Sam Ricketts said he was delighted with his side as they played a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the FA Cup 4th round tie. Curtis Jones opened the score in the 15th minute, while Donald Love scored an own goal in the 46th minute. Later on, Jason Cummings scored a double for Shrewsbury as the game ended in a 2-2 draw. “I am delighted, I thought the players were excellent. I thought they carried out the game-plan to the letter the whole game and even though we were behind 1-0 I always thought we were in the game," Ricketts said. “We had chances to equalise, even at 2-0 a lot of teams would have gone under but we carried on and deservedly got the draw. "We have done it many times this season, we've had that spirit to come back and a couple of players were disappointed at the end we had not won it. “I can't really ask for much more than to hold Liverpool to a 2-2 draw and earn a replay. We had to work hard for our goals, we gifted them their goals. “We worked on the game-plan this week and you could see it working on the pitch, which is pleasing as it is one thing doing it but the players have to carry it out. That is the best feeling about being a manager." The replay between Shrewsbury and the Reds will be played on February 4th at Anfield. Asked if he believes his side can achieve a win at Anfield, he added: “We will have to assess and see what happens between now and then but we will have gained a lot of belief from today about what we can do.” source - LiverpoolECHO
