AS Roma have successfully secured the services of Romelu Lukaku, the Chelsea striker, in a significant move.
The Belgium international has smoothly undergone his medical assessment, paving the way for the formalization of his season-long loan agreement. In this arrangement, Lukaku, formerly associated with Inter Milan, is making a return to Serie A.
Notably, this loan arrangement, valued at €5 million, differs from the previously discussed deals involving Chelsea, Inter, and Juventus. The modification in the agreement structure is a direct result of the urgency to conclude the deal before the transfer market deadline.
Additionally, AS Roma has reached the final stages of negotiations regarding Lukaku's contract terms. These discussions have resulted in the 30-year-old's agreement to a "discounted" salary package, which entails a reduction from his previous €12 million net earnings.
Consequently, his new salary will amount to approximately €7.5 million net. This adjustment marks a decrease in comparison to his earnings during his tenure at Inter last season.
