Fabrizio Romano has reported that Granit Xhaka is the next on Arsenal's shortlist of renewals.
According to the transfer expert, the Gunners' are prioritizing the Swiss international's stay at the Emirates after securing Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba's futures.
The 30-year-old has established himself as one of the best midfielders in England for years, playing a key role in the North Londoner's pecking order.
Arsenal's vice-captain will be out of contract in the summer of 2024, however, the club has the choice to extend it by another year and it's believed that talks will progress along pretty smoothly given that both sides are eager to reach an agreement.
“Despite reports, talks are not advanced now. Xhaka is next in the list after Martinelli, Saka and Saliba, but the Saka deal has to be finalized and also Saliba is still in negotiations, so it will take some time before getting Xhaka extension done. It will be discussed in the next months,” Romano claimed via CaughtOffside.
