Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand says that the depth of Manchester City’s squad is “scary” for teams hoping to challenge the Citizens this season.
City won the Community Shield on penalties 5-4 after edging Liverpool in a game at Wembley.
"They've won the game without [Aymeric] Laporte, Fernandinho, and [Sergio] Aguero," he said on BT Sport. "Three of their most important players last season."
"It shows you the depth of this squad. You need the depth and quality to sustain title challenges and cup competitions. That's the scary thing for other teams challenging."
