Patrick Bamford is doubtful to be included in Leeds United's squad for the AS Monaco friendly on December 21.
Jesse Marsch tries to control the Englishman's fitness properly following groin surgery earlier this month.
Therefore, the coach will not risk the player's situation as Bamford aims to fully be recovered in time to face Manchester City in the Premier League on December 28.
The 2022/23 campaign has been challenging for the 29-year-old with the attacker being troubled by a run of unfortunate problems, participating just four times for the Yorkshire side in all competitions.
According to Yorkshire Evening Post, Wednesday's clash against the Ligue 1 would be too early for the Leeds ace to return to the pitch.
“Jesse Marsch and head of medicine and performance Rob Price have been forced to manage Bamford’s workload closely in order to avoid recurrences of minor injuries that robbed him of continuity last season.
“Bamford played no part in Leeds’ friendly triumphs over Elche or La Real and is altogether unlikely to be involved in the squad to face AS Monaco this Wednesday.
“This further casts doubt on his readiness for the return of the Premier League season when Manchester City visit Elland Road next week.”
