Everton are reportedly showing interest in signing Manchester City's Kalvin Phillips, who has struggled to secure playing time since his move to the club.
The 27-year-old previously made a name for himself at Leeds United, playing a key role in their promotion from the Championship under Marcelo Bielsa and their early success in the Premier League.
However, since his £42 million transfer to the Etihad Stadium in 2022, he has made only 26 appearances and failed to make a significant impact.
According to iNews, Phillips is now looking to revive his career away from Manchester, with Everton and Newcastle being potential destinations.
The report also suggests that City was open to letting the midfielder go in the summer, but the player himself chose to stay, feeling that leaving so soon after his transfer from Leeds would be premature.
This season, the Englishman has played only 167 minutes, with just one start in the EFL Cup's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle. In the previous season, he suffered a significant shoulder injury that kept him out of the starting lineup at the beginning of the campaign, and he started only four games during Pep Guardiola and his side's treble-winning season.
