Reiss Nelson has reportedly rejected Arsenal's first contract proposal.
The 23-year-old has a deal at the Emirates valid until the upcoming summer, however, Mikel Arteta admires the winger and is keen to keep him longer at the club.
Nelson has scored three goals and provided two assists in the Premier League this season despite only featuring in 138 minutes overall.
However, as per Fabrizio Romano's recent reports, the winger has turned down the Gunners' first bid over a renewal, meanwhile, the negotiations remain ongoing.
On the other hand, in order to reach a career development the winger needs to play frequently, and the North Londo outfit are probably not going to give him the chance because players such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are above him in Mikel Arteta's pecking order.
Several European teams are monitoring the Englishman for a potential free move in June.
