Aston Villa's top target Tammy Abraham opened up about getting messages from Reece James to return to Chelsea, as per a recent report from 90 Min.
The English striker has been performing exceptionally since joining Roma, contributing to their UEFA Europa Conference League victory last season. During his debut campaign with the Italian club, he netted 27 goals in all competitions and has added nine goals and seven assists this season.
Currently, Roma is vying for a spot in the Europa League final, with Abraham aiming to guide them to back-to-back European triumphs. While it remains uncertain if the player desires a return to the Premier League, Aston Villa, a former club of Abraham's, is reportedly optimistic about securing his signature. The 25-year-old was on loan at Villa Park from 2018 to 2019.
"I still talk to so many Chelsea players, James always tells me to come back," said the Chelsea Academy graduate in an interesting twist reflecting on his time with the Blues.
"We grew up together and have known each other for years - players like [Mason] Mount, [Declan] Rice and [Eddie] Nketiah," concluded Abraham sending farewell to his boyhood club players.
