Ex-Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who worked at Old Trafford from 2019 to 2021 has spoken out on the reasons behind Jadon Sancho's struggles.
Sancho finds himself in a difficult situation with Erik ten Hag following Manchester United's recent loss to Arsenal. Currently, the 23-year-old is training separately from the first-team squad at Manchester United. This separation stems from his refusal to apologize to Ten Hag after he essentially accused the Dutch coach of dishonesty.
The Dutchman had stated that Sancho was omitted from the squad for the Arsenal match due to poor training performances that week. The Manchester United manager insists on a public apology from Sancho before allowing him to return to regular training. However, Ten Hag remains steadfast in his stance, as reported by Sky Sports.
Sancho was anticipated to be a key player in Manchester United's quest to regain Premier League supremacy when he was signed by Solskjaer in the summer of 2021. Unfortunately, things haven't gone as planned, and Solskjaer has provided an explanation.
"I wanted Jadon Sancho, yes. Unfortunately, it has not worked out," remarked the former Manchester United manager. "He’s immensely talented and I’m sure we haven’t seen the best of him. I hope we do, but he prefers to play left wing… where Marcus Rashford plays."
